Themes to Live By in 2012 and Beyond

I was re-reading the book You Can Create an Exceptional Life, by Louise Hay and Cheryl Richardson, and came to a list of themes that Louise Hay has used to guide her life's decisions.

They seem like the perfect way to start a new year. If we can remember to follow these themes on a daily basis, we can all create the life we were intended to lead. When you review these, think about the changes you might make in your own life and work and how following these might make a difference. They are part of a holistic approach to life and work, encompassing spirit, mind and body.

From the book...
Simplicity - focusing on small, simple, and manageable steps instead of making things complicated. Break big issues down into small pieces and tackle the small bits one at a time.

Jeri's Gluten-Free Firebird Cornbread

I doubled the recipe for this holiday.
Now is the time our minds turn to images of turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie and all the family and friends with whom we'll be sharing this feast. If you have a gluten allergy, as I do, then you need to consider what you CAN eat and ways to enjoy the feast without creating a health issue.

One of the recipes our family enjoys is Firebird stuffing. I've adapted this into a gluten-free cornbread dish which I will be sharing with friends and family this holiday. I share it here for those who also are looking for gluten-free options.

Have a healthy and wonderful Thanksgiving (if you're in the US), and enjoy this recipe!

Living Cancer Free Is an Option

A friend and colleague has been dealing with liver cancer for more than a year now. He recently updated us on his status, with excellent news.....
  • He's lost 80-90 pounds
  • He feels great and looks terrific
  • He has a very positive outlook on life (and a very supportive wife who has changed the way she shops and cooks to support him - only organic everything)
  • His energy levels are high
  • He has changed his diet to a healthy, organic one (lot's of greens)
  • He takes lots of supplements to keep his red and white blood cell counts high
  • He drinks only ionized Alkaline water to maintain a body Ph level between 7.0 and 8.5
(did you know cancer can't survive in an Alkaline body?)
All of this makes his doctors wonder what he's doing right. He still has 2 cancer tumors in his liver, yet he's not feeling the effects of them.
